Front Royal, Virginia - April 18, 2007 - The athletes and coaches who participate in Cross Country and Track & Field have never received the accolades that their counterparts in more popular sports such as football, baseball and basketball have received.  They compete in Cross/Track simply for the love of the sport. 

We created NWDistrict.com to help give these athletes the recognition they deserve.  In our first school year of Cross Country (the fall of 2005) and Track & Field (spring of 2006), we received an overwhelmingly positive response from the coaches, athletes, parents and fans. We also discovered that one or two people can't cover the eight schools within the Northwestern District properly.

With each new school year, we strive to improve the coverage, and enhance our site to become a comprehensive online magazine for Cross Country and Track & Field events in the Northwestern District. Often times, the eight high schools within the Northwestern District are competing in three or four different meet locations on the same day. It became clear that in order to achieve our goals, we need to raise the funds necessary to pay a staff of photographers and reporters.  

NWDistrict.com is actively seeking corporate sponsors to enhance our coverage of Cross Country and Track & Field events within the Northwestern District.  We are also offering a new "Personal Sponsorship" for parents and fans. 

There are eight high schools in the Virginia High School League's Northwestern District:

• Sherando High School, Stephens City, VA

• Warren County High School, Front Royal, VA

• Skyline High School, Front Royal, VA

• Central High School, Woodstock, VA
