Handley's boys
cross country team finished third in the "A" race of the William
& Mary Invitational on Saturday. The Judges were led by Daniel
Carlton who finished 12th overall and covered the 3.05 mile
course in 16:42. He was followed by Erin McWhorter in 13th,
Clint Schiavone in 26th, Cameron Crowell in 43rd and Louis
Ramirez in 65th. Fork Union Military Academy won the meet with
89 points with Jamestown second at 150 in the 25-team field. The
Judges finished with 159. On the girls' side, Anna Cote
finished 10th overall in 19:13 as the Judges finished 13th.
Warren County's
boys finished third in the "C" race led by Daniel Arnold's
third-place finish in 16:56 and Adam Eakins' 10th. The Wildcat
girls took fourth paced by Mara Smith in third (20:17), Jenny
Nichols (20:18) in fourth and Kasey Ewing in 10th.
Meanwhile,
Brentsville traveled to Hoover, Alabama to compete in the Race
of Champions. On the boys side, Adam Henken placed 7th,
with a time of 16:20. Henry Melius placed 10th (16:25),
Ray Delgado 32nd (17:04) and Luke Watts placed 59th (17:34).
The Brentsville boys placed 4th as a team in the highly
competitive Race of Champions division.
On the girls side,
Becky Stewart placed 22nd, with a time of 19:56. Lauren
Bussian placed 67th (21:06) and Amelia Emerson took 68th
(21:06).
